My Birthday!

No decorations, no cake baking,

no party, no stress.

Just wanted to save a few photos. :)

Bentley's 8th Birthday Party

Bentley wanted a Bakugan Party like Maxwell's,

so we used the same invitation design,

and basic party idea,

but didn't attempt a tournament.

Mikey helped me hang the streamers, which was

awesome! I didn't have to climb off and on chairs,

and it went a lot faster.

First, Bentley wanted vanilla cupcakes
with green chocolate frosting.
Then, he wanted green strawberry cupcakes
with chocolate frosting.
He settled on green vanilla cupcakes
with chocolate frosting.

The party favors were once again,
one Bakugan and two cards per guest.

We put a different guy (Shun) on the bags
because he's Bentley's favorite.

He chose a sparkling "8" candle for his cupcake.

Happy Birthday Bentley!

*note to self - rootbeer and 7/8 year olds is a bad combination

Bandana Skirt #1

Mindy found some cute bandanas in her little town.

I used one of them today to make a skirt for Ruby,

inspired by this tutorial on V and Co.

Dish Towel Apron - II

I picked this apron up at Maceys for about $5.

I used this tutorial again.

Here's the finished apron. It was so fast and easy.
About 1 hour start to finish.

Maxwell's 6th Birthday Party

Easiest party ever. I made this stuff,
and John did the tournament. Sweet.

Bookscase Makeover

One of John's friends gave us this old bookcase.

I wanted to use it in the kitchen but decided

to paint it because the "wood" was so much darker

than the rest of the wood in there.

John suggested painting it white,
which was perfect because I had a roll of
wrapping paper that I was holding onto,
hoping I'd think of some use for it
(besides the obvious use of wrapping gifts).

Thank You - July Card Swap

Knowledge

Each morning and evening at Girls' Camp,

there will be a Value-themed handout

in the mailboxes. I got to make the handout

for Knowledge, which is green.

May Stamp Group Card

I managed to make cards for May's Stamp Group,

but not for June's. :(

Teacher Quilt

Bentley and Maxwell's wonderful kindergarten teacher is

retiring this spring, after 25 years of teaching.

This quilt has the names of her current students

on the front, and many of her past students on the back.

My mother-in-law, Carla, machine quilted it for me.

Miss Ruby's Skirt - Take 2

Instead of cleaning the house, or doing something else

that should be done before the baby is born,

today I made this skirt for Ruby.

It's not pink either, but she seems to like it anyway. :)

I modified the pattern from this shop on etsy.

Here's the quilt for our new baby.

I used a pattern I saw on another blog,

Big Flower - Revisited

This card is basically the same as this card.

I really liked the original, wished I had more,

needed more general "friend" cards, and was

unable to come up with anything new. :)
The words on this one are "friend to friend."

The Glider - Recovered Part 2

I finally got around to buying a staple gun so that

I could recover the glider's footstool.

Greg and John took turns helping me.
