Ruby's Quilt

A year or two before Ruby was born,
I was lucky enough to inherit some of
Carla's fabric stash. I loved the colors and
couldn't wait to one day use the fabric in a quilt.
Last spring, I decided to make Ruby
a quilt little quilt for her bed.
It's not exactly what I had envisioned
when I first got the fabric,
but I like the way it turned out,
and am glad that fabric isn't still
sitting in a drawer in the basement.

My mother-in-law, Carla,
did the beautiful machine quilting.

The quilt is going to be worn out by next week.
Ruby is dragging it all over the house.
On the one hand, it hurts a little to see the quilt
being dragged across the floor, and on the other hand,
I am so glad that she likes her simple little quilt.

Teacher Quilt

Bentley and Maxwell's wonderful kindergarten teacher is
retiring this spring, after 25 years of teaching.
This quilt has the names of her current students
on the front, and many of her past students on the back.
My mother-in-law, Carla, machine quilted it for me.

Ruby's Baby Quilt

Greg's Quilt

This is a penguin quilt that Mindy and I made for Greg's 16th birthday. I pieced it, and she quilted and bound it.
