Dolphin Party

I showed Jonah several really cute (in my opinion)
party ideas. He even agreed to go along with one,
for a few days. Then he asserted his independence,
and told me that he wanted a Dolphin Party.
What on earth do you do for a Dolphin Party?
Here are the invitations:

For decorations, we hung blue streamers across
the living room and over the kitchen table.
In the living room, we put waves along the walls,
and fish cut outs hanging from the ceiling.
We also blew up a bunch of blue balloons.

When the kids arrived, they colored little fish cutouts.
Later, we held a blue blanket (parachute style)
and the kids dove underneath to find their fish.
After the coloring, we watched a few clips from
a PBS video about dolphins.
We played the "fishing" game, and then
practiced hitting a ball with our faces (like dolphins).
We played Memory with some Go Fish cards,
and Jonah opened his presents.
John got pizza and root beer from Little Caesars,
and for dessert we had brownies (no cake for Jonah).

T-Shirt Dress

My Mom made cute t-shirt dresses for Ruby
and her girl cousins last summer.

Ruby still really likes the dress, but she has
grown enough that the skirt was too short,
and she refused to wear leggings or pants
underneath it. I decided to add a little
fabric to the skirt so she could keep wearing
the dress. Ruby told me she wanted it "longer longer"
so I ended up adding a few rows of fabric.
I had some ribbon that matched, so we added that, too.

Peacemaker

I gave Lesson 9 in Manual 2 today in Young Women.
Mindy suggested sunglasses or magnifying glasses,
and told me what to write on them.
It's so nice to have a creative sister. :)
I bought a bag of 48 small magnifying glasses at
Partyland for around $3.
